Whole Wheat Bread: LDS church recipe tweaked by Katie Burton

1 T yeast
1/4 c warm water (100-110 degrees F)
1/2 tsp sugar
2 1/2 c hot water
7 c whole wheat flour (or any combo of white/wheat)
1/2 c powdered milk
1/2 T salt
1/3 c oil
1/3 c sugar
*In a small bowl, mix yeast, 1/4 c water, and 1/2 tsp sugar. While that sits, mix water w/ half of the flour. Add salt, oil, sugar and pdr milk. Mix until well blended. Add yeast mixture. Slowly add the rest of the flour until dough is just stiff enough to clean the sides of the bowl. Knead on low mixer setting for 10 min. On slightly oiled surface, divide dough in half, cover w/ damp towel and let rise until doubles in size. Shape into loaves and place in greased loaf pans. Cover and let rise until doubled in size again. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 min.
